Alternatively, the four are identified with the four ‘vyūhas’ (emanations) of the Pāñcarātra theology: Vāsudeva, Saṃkarṣaṇa, Pradyumna, and Aniruddha. **Pāñcarātra theology<br> This name is the doctrinal basis for the ‘catur-vyūha’ (four-fold emanation) teaching of the Pāñcarātra Āgamas, which is the theological foundation of Śrī Vaiṣṇavism.
