जो सर्वांचा अधिपती, नियंता आणि संरक्षक आहे, तो ईशानः. पंचमहाभूतांसह संपूर्ण विश्वावर ज्याचे सूक्ष्म नियंत्रण आहे, तोच हा. सामर्थ्य आणि करुणा यांच्या संतुलनाने कार्य करणारा परमेश्वर म्हणजे ईशान.

**Distinction from Īśvaraḥ (36)<br> While ‘Īśvaraḥ’ emphasizes capability and freedom (the Lord who ‘can’ do all things), ‘Īśānaḥ’ emphasizes active governance — the Lord who ‘does’ govern all things.
