जो सर्वकाळ कायम आहे, तो शाश्वतः. जग नश्वर असले तरी त्याचे सत्यस्वरूप नित्य आणि कालातीत आहे. अखंड अस्तित्व, स्थिरता आणि सनातनता यांचे हे नाव आहे.

From *shaash* (to remain forever); "The Eternal, the Everlasting" — He exists perpetually, unaffected by the endless cycle of creation and dissolution that governs everything else.

**Significance<br> ‘Śāśvata’ conveys not merely long duration but timeless permanence. The Bhagavad Gītā uses this word repeatedly for the nature of the supreme: (2.20) ‘"śāśvato'yaṃ purāṇaḥ"‘ — eternal and primordial; (18.56) ‘"śāśvataṃ padam avyayam"‘ — the eternal, inexhaustible abode. Viṣṇu as Śāśvataḥ is the one constant in a universe of flux — the unchanging ground against which all change is perceived.
