GP-600
Grey Ceramic Microspheres
Coarse-grade, high-strength alumino-silicate ceramic microspheres engineered for density reduction, high build, and mechanical stability in lightweight cementitious systems, high-build coatings, oil & gas cementing, and industrial flooring.
GP-600 GREY CERAMIC MICROSPHERES
GP-600 Grey Ceramic Microspheres are coarse-grade, high-strength alumino-silicate ceramic microspheres engineered for applications requiring density reduction, high build, and mechanical stability. With a larger particle size distribution compared to fine and medium grades, GP-600 is optimised for lightweight cementitious systems, oil & gas cementing, high-build coatings, and industrial flooring applications.
The rigid ceramic shell and spherical morphology enable uniform stress distribution, reduced shrinkage, and improved packing efficiency, making GP-600 suitable for formulations where volume filling, thickness, and structural integrity are key performance drivers.
With a D50 of ~10 µm and a D95 of ~35 µm, GP-600 delivers exceptional high-build performance in thick coatings, mortars, and flooring systems. Its lower true density (~2.3 g/cc) compared to finer grades makes it an attractive lightweight extender while retaining the ceramic hardness and thermal stability that define the GEOSPHERES™ range.

APPLICATIONS OF GP-600
GP-600's coarse particle size, rigid ceramic shell, and spherical morphology make it particularly effective in high-build and volume-filling applications across a broad range of demanding industrial sectors.
High-Solids Industrial Coatings Filler
Improves packing efficiency and film build in epoxy/PU/acrylic industrial coatings, enabling higher solids with controlled viscosity and robust mechanical performance.
Anti-Corrosion & Marine Coatings Reinforcement
Enhances abrasion resistance and coating integrity in protective primers/topcoats, supporting tougher films and improved durability in harsh service environments.
Industrial Flooring & Heavy-Duty Toppings
Acts as a rigid ceramic microfiller in epoxy/PU floors and screeds to improve wear resistance, compressive strength, and long-term surface durability.
Cementitious Repair Mortars & Grouts
Provides micro-reinforcement and dimensional stability in repair systems, helping reduce cracking and improving mechanical strength under load.
Oil & Gas Cementing / Wellbore Strengthening
Suitable for mechanically demanding cementing and strengthening formulations where particle integrity and stability are required under pressure and temperature.
Thermoset Composites (Epoxy / Polyester / Vinyl Ester)
Improves stiffness and dimensional stability in composite matrices, supporting better mechanical performance and processability versus irregular mineral fillers.
Foundry & Refractory Coatings
Improves thermal stability, erosion resistance, and surface integrity in refractory and foundry coatings exposed to high temperatures and molten metals.
Tooling, Mold & Die Coatings
Enhances wear resistance and surface hardness in mold and die coatings, helping reduce metal pick-up, surface damage, and maintenance frequency.
Adhesives & Structural Sealants
Acts as a rigid microfiller to improve mechanical strength, gap stability, and creep resistance in epoxy and PU-based structural bonding systems.
Polymer-Modified Concrete & Overlays
Improves load-bearing capacity and abrasion resistance in polymer-modified concrete, overlays, and industrial repair layers.
Automotive & Heavy Engineering Coatings
Used in underbody, chassis, and component coatings to enhance durability, stone-chip resistance, and long-term mechanical stability.
Wear-Resistant Linings & Protective Barriers
Incorporated into protective linings for chutes, hoppers, and material-handling equipment to improve resistance to abrasion and mechanical wear.
KEY BENEFITS OF GP-600
Effective Density Reduction
Coarse, spherical ceramic particles enable lightweight formulations while maintaining structural integrity — ideal for thick and high-volume systems.
High Build Capability
Supports rapid thickness build in coatings, mortars, and flooring systems without excessive viscosity increase or sagging.
Improved Dimensional Stability
Rigid ceramic structure helps minimise shrinkage, cracking, and deformation in thick-section and load-bearing applications.
Enhanced Compressive & Impact Resistance
High-strength ceramic shells contribute to improved mechanical performance under static and dynamic loads.
Efficient Particle Packing
Spherical morphology improves packing efficiency, reducing segregation and improving uniformity in coarse-filled systems.
Thermal & Chemical Resistance
Stable at elevated temperatures and resistant to acids, alkalis, and hydrocarbons — suitable for harsh industrial and oilfield environments.
Non-Combustible & Inert
Inorganic ceramic composition ensures fire safety and long-term stability without chemical interaction with binders or curing agents.
Cost-Performance Optimisation
Allows partial replacement of heavier mineral fillers and aggregates while achieving required strength and volume, improving overall formulation economics.
SAFETY, STORAGE & PACKAGING
GP-600 Grey Ceramic Microspheres are inorganic, chemically inert, and non-hazardous under normal industrial use. They are non-flammable, non-reactive, and do not emit hazardous fumes. Dust generation should be minimised during handling. Refer to the full Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for detailed occupational safety guidance.
