FOAMSTAB 0370
For water-based coatings developing foam during dispersion, milling, pumping, tinting, and application in surfactant-heavy formulations.
Key Performance Benefits
-
High Surfactant Tolerance
Specially modified mineral oil chemistry effectively controls persistent foam stabilized by high levels of wetting agents, emulsifiers, and dispersants. -
Multi-Process Defoaming
Delivers aggressive foam knockdown during high-shear dispersion, sand milling, high-speed pumping, POS tinting, and brush or roller application. -
Colorant & Tint Compatibility
Prevents color floating, pigment separation, and color acceptance issues when using surfactant-rich universal pigment paste colorants. -
Long-Term Anti-Foam Persistence
Hydrophobic particle technology provides consistent foam suppression throughout extended storage and service life.
Recommended Applications
-
Surfactant-Rich Latex Paints
High-wetting agent emulsion paints, water-based decorative finishes, and high-gloss trade latex coatings. -
Pigment Concentrates & Milling
Surfactant-rich waterborne pigment grinding bases, dispersions, and mill-base formulations. -
Tinting System Bases
Point-of-sale (POS) tintable base paints requiring outstanding compatibility with universal colorants. -
Emulsion Adhesives & Sealants
Highly stabilized latex adhesives and water-based construction sealants requiring persistent foam control.

Dosage & Processing Guidelines
The recommended dosage range for FOAMSTAB 0370 is 0.1% to 0.6% based on the total formulation weight.
-
Grind & Mill Stage
Add 50–60% of the total calculated dosage prior to high-shear milling or pigment dispersion to suppress initial wetting-agent foam. -
Let-Down Phase
Incorporate the remaining dosage during the let-down or post-addition stage to ensure long-lasting anti-foam performance during application. -
Tinting Additions
Can be added to point-of-sale (POS) tint bases to prevent head foam generated during automated colorant dispensing operations.
In surfactant-heavy waterborne paints and pigment concentrates, high concentrations of dispersants and wetting agents form tough, viscoelastic bubble films that standard defoamers struggle to break. FOAMSTAB 0370 combines selected hydrophobic silica particles with a balanced mineral oil carrier designed to penetrate high-surface-active interfaces quickly, forcing rapid bubble collapse during milling, pumping, and tinting without causing color acceptance defects.
