Key Performance Benefits

  • Eco-Compliant VOC-Free Formulation
Meets stringent environmental standards for modern low-VOC architectural coatings, water-based inks, and eco-labeled formulations.
  • High Defoaming Efficiency
Delivers rapid knockdown of surface foam generated during high-speed dispersion, pumping, and production operations.
  • Excellent Gloss Retention
The specially modified silicone structure preserves film clarity and surface gloss in clear overprint varnishes (OPVs) and aqueous coatings.
  • Shear & Storage Stability
Maintains consistent performance during pigment milling, high-shear roller coating, and extended storage without phase separation.

Recommended Applications

  • Emulsion Paints
Architectural interior and exterior latex coatings, acrylic emulsions, and styrene-acrylic paint systems.
  • Water-Based Printing Inks
Flexographic and gravure inks for paper, paperboard, corrugated board, and flexible packaging applications.
  • Overprint Varnishes (OPV)
Water-based clear coatings, gloss varnishes, and protective lacquers for paper and packaging.
  • Water-Based Adhesives
Polymer emulsion adhesives, paper bonding glues, and pressure-sensitive latex adhesive formulations.

Dosage & Processing Guidelines

The recommended addition level for FOAMSTAB 240 is 0.1% to 0.5% calculated on the total formulation weight.

  • Paint Formulations
Split incorporation is recommended — add 50% during the grind phase and the remaining 50% during the let-down stage for optimum foam control.
  • Printing Inks & OPVs
Post-add under moderate stirring during the final let-down stage to achieve uniform dispersion and effective defoaming.
  • Emulsion Adhesives
Incorporate directly into the aqueous binder under steady agitation to ensure complete dispersion and consistent performance.

💡 Formulator Insight & Lab Tip

In water-based flexo inks and high-gloss overprint varnishes (OPV), achieving strong foam control without triggering surface defect craters or reduced print clarity is critical. FOAMSTAB 240 offers a balanced modified-silicone emulsion that suppresses microfoam efficiently at lower dosage levels while maintaining high optical clarity and uniform ink transfer.
