Dosage & Processing Guidelines

The typical dosage range for FOAMSTAB 8850 is 0.1% to 0.5% calculated on the total formulation weight.

  • Split Incorporation
Add 50% into the mill-base/dispersion phase prior to grinding and the remaining 50% during the let-down phase.
  • Post-Addition Tinting
Can be added during tinting operations to rapidly collapse shear foam introduced by high-speed dispenser heads.
  • Mixing Conditions
Standard production agitation is sufficient to ensure homogeneous distribution throughout the aqueous paint matrix.

In tintable decorative paints and dispersion coatings, high surfactant loads in universal colorants often generate persistent foam during point-of-sale tinting and high-speed filling. FOAMSTAB 8850 offers an optimal hydrophobic mineral oil balance that destroys shear foam during manufacturing, tinting, and filling without causing color rub-off or cratering defects.
