Typical Physical Properties
| Property Parameter | Test Specification / Unit |
|---|---|
| Chemical Description | Fluoro-modified siloxane solution in organic solvent |
| Active Substance | 5% Fluorosilicone |
| Appearance | Clear to slightly haze-free liquid |
| Solvent Carrier | Aromatic Solvent / Ester Blend |
| Viscosity (25°C) | Low-viscosity, free-flowing liquid |
Dosage & Processing Guidelines
Due to the exceptional surface activity of fluorosilicone chemistry, the recommended addition level for FOAMSTAB FS 530 is 0.05% to 0.4% based on the total formulation weight.
-
Incorporation
Can be added during the let-down phase or pre-blended into the solvent/resin mixture prior to the grinding stage. -
Shear Conditions
Medium-shear mixing is sufficient for uniform dispersion. Pre-dilution in the formulation solvent can improve handling and distribution. -
Ladder Testing
Conduct dosage ladder trials to determine the optimum balance between bubble release performance and recoat adhesion.
💡 Formulator Insight & Lab Tip
Fluorosilicone defoamers represent the highest tier of foam destruction power for extreme solvent-borne systems where conventional PDMS or organic defoamers fail due to high resin solubility. The fluorine modification drastically lowers surface tension, allowing FOAMSTAB FS 530 to drive stubborn microbubbles out of high-viscosity or fast-drying protective finishes.
