The INSTRUMEX Manual Stack Monitoring Kit (Model: IPM-114) is a portable stack emission sampling system designed for the measurement of particulate matter and gaseous pollutants from industrial stacks, chimneys, boilers, furnaces, and process vents.
The system enables environmental professionals, industries, laboratories, consultants, and regulatory agencies to perform stack emission monitoring by collecting representative samples of particulate matter and gaseous pollutants under controlled sampling conditions.
Designed for field use, the IPM-114 measures stack gas temperature, velocity, pressure, and sampling flow rate while collecting particulate and gaseous pollutant samples for laboratory analysis. How It Works
The IPM-114 extracts a representative gas sample from the stack under isokinetic sampling conditions, ensuring that the sampling velocity at the nozzle matches the velocity of the stack gas.
A calibrated S-Type Pitot Tube measures stack gas velocity while a thermocouple continuously measures stack temperature. The vacuum pump draws the sample through the sampling train where particulate matter is collected on a filter media and gaseous pollutants are absorbed into reagent-filled impingers.
The collected particulate sample is analyzed gravimetrically, while absorbed gases are analyzed using standard laboratory methods. By maintaining proper isokinetic conditions throughout the sampling period, the system ensures accurate and representative emission measurements.
